After averaging $7960 for 112 females in April, five months later the stud outstripped the highest Angus bull sale average to date this spring selling season by more than $1500.
Following on from their record-breaking sale of 2011, Bathurst’s Millah Murrah stud continued the dream run of Angus sales at their 24th on property annual bull sale last week.
Angus sales continue cracking run. Hot on the heels of several record-breaking bull sale averages came yet another – and the best yet – from Millah Murrah Angus last Thursday.
In a strong result, the Millah Murrah Angus draft, of 82 bulls all sold at last week’s on-property auction at “Goonamurrah”, Bathurst, to a top of $16,000 to average $6100.
The second top price of $14,000 was reached twice: once for Millah Murrah Equator D1, and again for Millah Murrah Infinity D105, while third top of $12,000 was paid for Millah Murrah Equator D67.
A top price of $12,000 was reached at the Millah Murrah on-property bull sale last Thursday where there was a total clearance of the 53 bulls offered from Ross and Dimity Thompson’s stud.
A total clearance of 52 Angus bulls at the Thompson family’s Millah Murrah Angus sale, Bathurst, sold to $14,000 to average $5385 and gross $280,000 with strong sales to return buyers.
Young bulls met an enthusiastic market at last week’s Millah Murrah Angus sale, near Bathurst, where 52 sires averaged $5423 and reached a top of $15,000 in a total clearance.
